It is very common to use Padeyes for lifting and seafastening. Designing and calculating each and every padeye requires time. The easiest approach is to use standard padeye designs for which we already know their SWL. Below there are drawing of standard padeye for working loads of 2 mT upto 85 mT. Please note:
(1) Steel Grade is S355
(2) Fillet weld all around. Weld leg size as per drawing.
(3) Electrode E7018 or higher strength
(4) Use Shackle with same SWL
(5) Loading force to be in the plane of the padeye
(6) PDF drawings can be downloaded and printed on A3 paper size
– Download PDF drawing – Padeyes 2, 3.25, 4.75, 9.5, 12, 17 mT
– Download PDF drawing – Padeyes 25, 35, 55, 85 mT
(7) DXF drawing for CNC cutting of the padeyes can be downloaded here:

(8) Plate thickness as per drawing and padeye weight as table below
| PADEYE mT | Plate [mm] | Mass [kg] | Plate [inches] | Mass [kg] |
| 2 | 15 | 0.48 | 5/8 | 0.51 |
| 3.25 | 20 | 0.63 | 3/4 | 0.60 |
| 4.75 | 20 | 0.81 | 3/4 | 0.78 |
| 9.5 | 25 | 1.69 | 1 | 1.71 |
| 12 | 30 | 1.99 | 1 1/4 | 2.11 |
| 17 | 30 | 3.48 | 1 1/4 | 3.68 |
| 25 | 30 | 6.97 | 1 1/4 | 7.38 |
| 35 | 35 | 11.36 | 1 1/2 | 12.37 |
| 55 | 40 | 20.34 | 1 3/4 | 22.60 |
| 85 | 50 | 35.09 | 2 | 35.65 |
